Persian Graffiti

Persian Graffiti is the name for persian images or persian lettering scratched, scrawled, painted or marked in any manner on property. Persian graffiti is sometimes regarded as a form of persian art and other times regarded as unsightly damage or unwanted.

Graffiti has existed since ancient times, with examples going back to Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire and may range from simple scratch marks to elaborate wall paintings.

Iran's artists still restricted after revolution

Iran is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its revolution this month, a revolution which has imposed strict rules on culture. Government patronage is necessary for most artists to survive. Some agree that the government knows best on what to allow while others say that state control stifles artistic expression. Al Jazeera's Ali Reza reports from Tehran.
