Neda: Latest iconic image to inspire
The death of Neda Agha-Soltan became an iconic image when her shooting, which occurred during the 2009 Iranian election protests, was captured on video by bystanders and broadcast over the internet. The video quickly became a rallying cry for the reformist opposition.
Neda's name means "voice", "calling" or "divine message" in Persian, and she has been referred to as the "voice of Iran".
